The traditional month of women is here and we’re ready to ask the important questions about work wellness and the role of women in organisations everywhere.<\/p>\n\n

The Tallest Poppy 2023 is the first international study led by Women of Influence+, that looks at thousands of working women from all demographics and professions to determine how their mental health, well-being, engagement, and performance are affected by interactions with their clients, colleagues, and leaders surrounding their success and accomplishments. TPS remains a significant issue in workplaces around the world and the results are detrimental to women and the organizations within which they work.<\/p>\n\n

Women\u2019s success is under attack in workplaces around the world. The more accomplished an individual is, the more likely she\u2019ll be to face aggressions, not only from those in positions of seniority, but also from her peers.<\/p>\n\n

Almost 90 per cent of women worldwide are penalized and undermined because of their achievements at work.<\/p>\n\n

77 per cent of respondents had their achievements downplayed.<\/p>\n\n

72.4 per cent of respondents were left out of meetings and discussions or were ignored.<\/p>\n\n

70.7 per cent said they were undermined because of their achievement(s).<\/p>\n\n

68.3 per cent had their achievement(s) dismissed.<\/p>\n\n

66.1 per cent said others took credit for their work.<\/p>\n\n

Additional ways people experience Tall Poppy Syndrome include: belittling, being silenced, disparaging comments, and microaggressions.<\/p>\n\n

The study was planned and carried out between January and February 2023. A total of 4,710 respondents took part in the survey across 103 countries.<\/p>\n\n
