🆕 Blue Monday is marked today. It was created back in 2005 by Sky Travel Shop, a television channel devoted exclusively to programs about traveling, documentaries, and commercials for travel agencies and used as a publicity stunt. The creators called it “Blue Monday”, the most depressing day of the year for a variety of reasons.
In popular culture, they say that Blue Monday has particular symptoms, such as feeling sluggish and depressed from the colder weather and end of holiday festivities.
🆕 Enter 2022 and 2023 in the mix! Now Blue Monday is the most popular day to look for a new job for employees, globally. This day’s effects have infiltrated the job seeker psyche to the point that January is now the most popular month for people to quit their jobs.
For example, at the beginning of 2022, France saw its highest number of resignations ever with nearly 520,000 resignations. More than a third of European workers are ready to quit their jobs in the first three months of 2023, according to a new report by McKinsey.
