Time off for „responsible travel” is the new trend for annual leave becoming popular across the world.
Many individuals and countries across Europe are making changes to embrace less environmentally damaging ways of travelling than air or road. France has banned short-haul flights where a train could get you to the same place in less than 2.5 hours.
But what about longer journeys?
A new approach to annual leave could address this time use, and boost companies’ green credentials. At some companies, employees can now avail of two extra days’ leave for „responsible travel”. They can make use of this time if they present proof that they intend to travel somewhere responsibly, such as by train.
